I am in New Zealand and work in a steel store. Because of the recession we have quite a bit of steel purchased some time ago at prices when the steel mills couldn't keep up with demand. We have been selling steel at below cost for some time to get the much cheaper steel in,so we're not caught too long with over priced steel. Yes steel has dropped significantly and yes it will come down further as the new lower priced steel comes in.  Demand has also dropped off significantly
