[TheForge] Fw: cutting off copper ferrules?

You guys are all kidding with the hacksaws and plasma cutters and stuff
right? Half inch copper pipe? .Use the is the tubing cutter. Gives a
perfect, square cut as accurate as you can measure, no deformation, no muss
no fuss. A really good one is under 20 bucks. Don't lean on it too hard and
there is no ID reduction. OK, it leaves a SLIGHT inward burr. Negligible,
and only at the very edge. Readily removed with emery, flute reamer, round
file, hold it on your sander to remove a few thousandthds from the end. .
I cut a few dozen of these at a time every few weeks. Ferrules on the Cape
Cod Weeder and similar hand tools. Never had a problem with the burr, much
less an ID reduction of any significance.
