[TheForge] Fw: cutting off copper ferrules?

Jerry is right, a dull tool works better on copper or soft brass than a
sharp one. Also try a positive rake angle on you cut off tool. Also helps
to turn a wood or plastic plug and place into the id of the tubing. (Or you
might find a wood doll that is just the right size.) With the plug in
place -- back into the chuck, then you can hold the other end with the tail
stock which alows you to use more cutting force. Use soap or wax as a
cutting lub.
If you can find copper that isn't dead soft that also helps.
I don't think you have one since you don't do any welding but a plasma
cutter just might work too. You would clamp the cutting torch and turn the
work piece.
