Just a little note: there's a good reason for this code item- common  
construction screws have virtually no strength in shear, just like nails  
are not to be trusted for pullout resistance.
It's amazing how many otherwise skilled carpenters don't take this into  
account with their framing nailing practices...what a nail is actually  
designed to DO.
