No land any more. The ocean has eaten right up to the highway. There
used to be a '40s style gas station, a stucco house, a hot dog stand and
a shingled water tower plus a double row cypress wind break and about
40' of back yard.
That place, about 10 miles south of here, was a couple of miles north of
the Piedras Blancas lite house, in the middle of the Hearst Ranch, about
12 miles N of San Simeon. Roughly 1/2 way between LA and SF.
My heart's still there. I could forge and fish at the same time when
conditions were right...pf
