Mine is 580 but towns like Flagstaff and Williams are 7500' above MSL.
If you hit water at 3000' down, you're still over 4000' high. We're
pretty low here in WV at 2800', but you still feel the altitude in the
temperature. This past summer, the nights were in the mid-50s -
sometimes lower.

The land? Where in CA? I used to live in San Mateo, then in Davis for
several years. Naturally I had to do the LA thing for a few years as well.
