[TheForge] OT frozen pipes and the opposite

A related story.
The neighbor property was bought by the conservancy and they were
tearing down the house. A crew was burning some of the wreckage and
somehow the flames snuck under the deck and subsequently under the
house. They'd thoughtfully already torn up the water line.
They were sweating, but doing OK getting it under control until the fire
made it to the plastic plumbing. The ABS especially ,was very difficult
to put out and the fire nearly got away from them.
We have screened foundation venting and access openings for the house
crawl space. We call them " burning bunny doors" because many places
have burned, during brush fires ,when a flaming, panicked animal dives
under a house seeking refuge...pf
