Assuming it's propane rated hose ( type R?), no problem. There's a small
argument for protecting the exterior rubber hose from UV light and it's
probably worth chaining or strapping the bottle/tank down so it doesn't
get knocked around accidentally.
You may find the bottle freezing up in use after a while if it's too
small. If so, possible solutions are, ganging two bottles together,
getting a bigger bottle or floating the bottle in a tub of water.
> The hose going outside is pretty heavuy duty and goes through a small piece of pvc piping at the wood window I made. I've never extended anything from the regulator thus the confusion sadly.
Not sadly at all. It's how we all learned. Gas plumbing, with all it's
assorted left and right hand fittings, various incompatible connections,
etc can be maddening.
I guess the usual shut down it just tank and then at the forge and
that's it?
I just shut it down at the forge during the day , then off at the tank
when i shut down the shop at night.
When opening the valve at the bottle, do so slowly at first ,to minimize
the surge to the regulator. That's true of all pressure bottles.
Use a lit twist of paper in the forge, then slowly turn on the gas, to
light it..that'll save arm hairs...pf
