it remains to be seen where the ships will be calling home port.
currently the canadians are making the best offer to home port the ships
at windsor, ontario, canada.

the one ship has been under canadian flag since it was built.
the swedish mine sweeper converted to dive ship was built in 1951.
the teak panelling is real and the swedish goverment and the eu
granted an waiver for this ship due to age. the ship used to belong
to the swedish navy. i have no idea what the u.s. coast guard will do
with this ship. currently all ship blueprints, documentation, and logs
are being organized for u.s. coast guard inspection.

currently all three ships will be listed as owner occupied.
do not entirely know what that all means that is for the lawyers
to tell me.

two of the ships currently have armories. the swedish mine sweeper and
the new zealand mother ship. the swedish mine sweeper current has two
.50 cal mounts which will have to be dealt with.

there is thought of using the mother ship to provide escort services
part of the year in pirate infested waters. working through the details
with the u.s. department of defense, u.s. coast guard, and u.s.
department of homeland security. may have to flag that ship under a
foreign flag.

as the ships currently are provisioned only the former canadian fishing
trawler may enter us waters. the other two may dock at halifax, nova
scotia or any latin american port. no i am not stupid enough to dock a
ship that has .50 cal mounts in any latin american port. i do not want
some drug cartel killing the crew and hijacking the ship and that is
just the local government then there are the other drug cartels. :-(

this is all complicated by the fact that i have to do everything long
distance. i am relying on movies, digital photographs, skype video
conferences. it would be much easier if i was on site.
