Ruuf,
Try a circular saw with the cutting depth set just a couple of mm deeper than the material you are cutting. I think you will find even the cheaper blades will last longer, cut faster and there is less wear on the tool.

Been cutting some 6mm plate with my angle grinder. I notice sometimes I wear the cutting disc out rather rapidly. Is there a best industry practice / technique?
