hello

the air compressor has been getting a work out this week. spray
ourselves down from concrete dust from using the concrete saws. filling
the jcb tire which has a slow rim leak which really needs to be fixed.
priming the shed trim. etc.

we were discussing today over coffee and doughnuts which would be
better; several small air compressors or a single large air compressor
that supplies all the air needs. i am on the fence. i can see both sides
pros and cons. i do tend toward a single large unit with a huge air
reservoir. basically, an 5 hp 2-cylinder single stage air compressor
engine driven by a 2:1 gear box being driven with a comer drive shaft
off the 540 rpm pto of the kubuta tractor. the air reservior would be a
500 gallon used propane bulk tank.

i see that there may be a need to keep all the spray painting equipment
on separate air compressors. keep pneumatic tools like nail guns, die
grinders, etc on their on air compressors. this quickly becomes the
numerous small air compressors providing air as needed, and no main
central air compressor.

i am really tired and nodding off as i attempt to write this. it is 0216
am chicago time. this may not be clear not all. anyway, i would like to
here from others with their thoughts and comments.
