I had Larry Zoeller build a two burner forge for me. I works great. Heats steel to a yellow in short order at 6 psi propane. My forge takes a little longer to heat as I put a slab of silicon carbide kiln shelving in the bottom to protect the insulating material. You can find Larry's contact info at www.abana.org

Subject: [TheForge] Shopping for Forges
I'm thinking about buying a new and shiny gas forge for my shop,
because the one I built has never worked as well as it should. It's
certainly not hot enough to forge weld. Hell, I could put a piece of
steel in there for 45 minutes and it wouldn't burn up. And it takes 25
minutes to heat up, but cools off to black in 2. So, does anyone out
there have recommendations on a reliable and hot gas forge to
purchase? I've been looking at Chileforge.com.
Thanks,
Mark
