[TheForge] Charcoal

The storms blew down a lot of trees and I have several miles of fence row
that need cleaning. Bring a saw, axe or whatever, and a truck. Cut it and
you can have it. Trees have to be trimmed and that wood will work also.
Don't use China berry or pressure treated wood as they are toxic. There are
several hundred cords of oak, pecan, cherry, maple, etc that will go to
waste anyway, so the environment isn't going to suffer.

Andy, charcoal is actually quite a sustainable resource, unlike coal
which will be gone when it's gone. Proper tree management can provide
all the charcoal anyone needs. Have you ever looked into withies? If
you cut a tree, and encourage, rather than prune, the suckers, you can
develop much more biomass than letting the tree grow as it originally
intended to. Not only that, but in so growing, it provides lots of
habitat for critters that aren't comfortable in high tree types of
forests.

Heat it up
Hit it hard
Repent as necessary.
