About 20 to 25 years ago a bunch of farms were developed in Englishtown 
NJ.  These were close to Raceway Park and when the new home owners moved 
in, they soon discovered Wednesday nights at the races, which usually 
rolled on noisily until about 1AM in the summer months.  The sissies 
complained and the track was forced to close.  Fortunately, the parties 
ended up in court by one means or another and the track won, with the 
compromise that weeknight racing ends at 10:00 PM.  I thought that was 
ridiculous, but better than no more track.

In a better world, the homeowners would have been instructed by the 
courts to go screw themselves - caveat emptor and all that.
