If you are going to build a type of battery back-up yourself, you also can
look into using 6 volt batteries in series circuit ( +_-_+_-) 2 6v batteries
connected this way together makes 12v, and you will increase your amp hours
so the battery will last a lot longer. Plus the solar panels will be easier
to charge them. If you need a lot of juice, like 6 batteries together. make
3 sets of 2 batteries in series, and then hook the 3 series circuits
together into a parralell circuit ( +_+_+_+_+ -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-) (connect
all the + together and all the - together)
We have a small house generator. 3kw runs well to keep us company in the 2
days we usually don't have power. It keeps the fridge cold, frezzer from
thaughing, and tv comes in clear.
Coffee pots, electric stoves, electric water heaters all require a lot of
electric since they use heating elements so watch this for your calculations
for a home generator.
