	If you have 100 amp service at 240 volts that is 24 KVA or about 25
KW + or -. Obviously you don't need that much for normal use because not
everything is running at the same time. But the math is volts times amps
give you Volt-Amps which is almost the same as Watts except for the power
factor.

How large a gar/diesel generator do the wise folks here feel would be needed
to run a household (typical, FWIW) plus a shop (TIG welder, misc. 
machines, most that will not be run simultaneously, but a few that may).

30Kw?  $0?  More?  Less?
