I badmouth galleries but like anything it isn't 
universally true. Seems to be the norm but it's still 
not universal. Like anything there are times when 
dealing with galleries is in your favor and times it's 
not. The more established you become the better the 
deal you can cut with one and the less you actually 
need one. Another good example might be if you want 
your privacy then dealing through a gallery might be 
worth it.

Oh crap, I hope we don't launch into the galleries 
pro/con thread! <shudder of dread!>
