[TheForge] pricing

A small gift to a nearby neighbor, or to the other half of the marriage
sometimes results in a return worth more than the cost of the work.

Not a gift story exactly. At an event last year, someone had a piece of
jewelry that is unique but had the wife's favorite symbol (vescia
pescies? The Chalice Well). I told the wife to look, she came over, and
of course as luck would have it, she found one that was more expensive.
The vendor had seen the display iron that I had made for the wife, and
wanted similar iron (I have sold the displays right out from under the
wife upon more than one occasion, luckily she is happy with it, I think
I will keep her a little longer<G>). I needed (as in a monsterous need
of grave importance) that item as a favor (looking for multiple returns
actually) for the wife. I hammered a bit, used a bit of iron, and in
return got something that the wife still wears and talks about. It was
a trade. They didn't squawk about my costs and I didn't squawk about
theirs. We both knew that we both were getting a good deal.

All the best

I don't like giving stuff away to much, although I have been known
to from time to time.
