Mike...i'd add that if the vise is mounted off center on the 
floor plate, then one can still be standing on the plate when 
using leverage against the vise...thus not have to chase the 
silly thing all over the yard when an excess of influence is 
applied. Stimulates the soles of the feet too...pf
