[TheForge] portable stand for a post vise

Years ago I gave my friend a very nice 3" Peter Wright post vise. He
made a great stand for it. The bottom of the base is a scrap disk about
18 or so inches in diameter with a 1 inch hole in the center. The tail
of the vise fits perfectly into this hole. Off center a length of I
believe 4x4 heavy wall box iron of the correct length is welded to the
disk. Atop that a short length of 2x4 box iron is welded 90* to the
square section. A plate is welded to the "back" end of the 2x4 and has
2 holes drilled in it to accept the ends of a u-bolt. The vise sits in
the hole in the disk with the leg-side jaw against the 2x4 iron. The
u-bolt passes around the leg and into the 2x4 such that the ends go
through the holes. Nuts are screwed on and tightened down, cinching the
leg to the 2x4 and hence to the base.

|__________________|<- honkin' heavy steel disk
Th ewhole affair is heavy enough that normal humans will not want to
have to carry it around from place to place. Steel disk base allows one
to roll it across the shop. It is VERY stable and simply indispensable.
