I remember a health film in high school where they put a nail in a glass
full of coke and it ate away a good portion of the nail. It was
surprising how much was eaten away. I guess that, even though it's not a
strong acid, it makes up for it in volume.
Also, I've heard that drinking a lot of soft drinks can lead to weak
bones because your body uses a lot of calcium to neutralize the acid.
Still there's nothing like a good cold coke on a hot day. It's just one
of those things, like a cold beer after working on a car.
