[TheForge] apprentice

Hello,

I happened upon that article referenced below or one like it and would
add that IMHO it would be very difficult to be hired at that facility.
The workers are union boilermakers, members of International Brotherhood
of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers.
Probably Boston Local Lodge #29. The shop could have been independent
at one time then organized by the boilermakers. That is why they carry
their book. It could be fairly independent of their hiring hall
concerning any changes in the ranks, although members working in field
construction who are a little weary might want a shop job like the one
described in the article. That or a transplant from a boiler repair shop
or the like. The boilermakers have a good apprenticeship program but
blacksmithing will not be part of your training.

Regards,
Bill Woolley
