I take the Onion, sort of like the old National Lampoon ( I really miss 
their letter from the editors section).   Anyway, the onion does spoof 
headlines and newspaper articles.  The one I always remember was in a 
collection called "Our Dumb History",  

San Fransisco Times headmast, with pictures of the destruction: headline 
reads "Pearl Harbor Bombed, Police Suspect Local Butcher, Sam Miroto"

Sort of sums up the stupidity of it all.
