Hi Grant;...good arguments, but......
"Mom" asked that we take this off forum, and i suppose he's 
right....much as it pains me not to get in the last word.

Smithing content, sorta ;
There's a forest fire over the mountain, about 20 miles upwind. We had 
pretty good ash fall all day.
At first i thought...if we get burnt out, at least my iron will still be 
here, waiting for me.
More optimistically.....now musing at all the tons of smithing charcoal 
that will be waiting patiently for us....
