Right. This is one way of evening the global wage scales. It is a
crap way IMO. I don't much care what China et al do. Burn, prosper,
whatever... I just don't like seeing my once prosperous home going
third-world.

When I was at Gillette in Berlin in 06, the entire line was
computerized. The QC was amazing - no more statistical samplings -
EVERY razor blade assembly is QC'd by computer at a few dozen per
second! Rejects are dumped - basically zero flawed units make it to
market. It was an amazing thing to watch. The downside is that only
about 10% of the former workforce was needed.
So just like anything else, technology is a two-edged blade. It helps
some and wrecks some.

This may be so, but people here should stop lving by the entitlement
mentality. Nobody is entitled to any job. If the terms of the employer
are not acceptable, find another job. Or start a business. Of course,
this is only reasonable if the markets are free, which they are not.
