Sorry for the mis-attribution.  Seems to me there was a pointer to a
photo of a back yard full of big old hammers, unloved and scorned by
the poster whose name I've forgotten

Oh.  Um.  Well, the only hammers I've used are the Palmer Power Spring
Hammer that I traded for the A&O, LG-style ones in various sizes (LG,
Jardine, Star) and a couple of Reiters/Kuhns.  I thought the Kuhn was
pretty slick although in one case, it turned out it didn't hit quite
as hard as I'd expected.  Control was lovely though, better than I
expect to get from the A&O.  So the Kuhn doesn't merit being called
"highly engineered"?
