[TheForge] OT (?) What's this?

I still think its Victorian in design whatever it is. When I first noticed
the threads and nut at the top I thought it might attach to a bracket with
rollers to hang from a rail. I thought the 4 hooks could hang hams. They're
too close together for sides of beef.
Looking closer at the bottom, it does look like it would fit into a stand or
base of some sort. Now what would be bolted to the top? Maybe a hood or
shade?
If it was bolted to a bracket, in the 1st example, maybe a long handle fits
over the taper allowing someone to slide the hooks along a rail?
I'm just brainstorming this. Your guess is as good as mine.

Rob, what do you make of the tapered bottom? Would that be wedged into some
type of support post as someone else suggested?

I using version 7. I got it to work now after I turned off the GhostSurf
program. It's a good program to block a lot of crap when surfing the web,
but sometimes it blocks too much.
Anyway, looking at the pictures, I would guess a Victorian style meat hanger
from a butcher's shop cooler.
