Hi all I am amazed at the amount of varied possible solutions for this
"sticky" situation. To be honest most of it is completely over my head
but I am learning a hellava lot...

One possible solution (from a complete novice) is Alcohol.

Once swallowed, a drink enters the stomach and small intestine, where
small blood vessels carry it to the bloodstream. Approximately 20% of
alcohol is absorbed through the stomach and most of the remaining 80%
is absorbed through the small intestine.

Alcohol is metabolized by the liver, where enzymes break down the
alcohol. Understanding the rate of metabolism is critical to
understanding the effects of alcohol. In general, the liver can
process one ounce of liquor (or one standard drink) in one hour. If
you consume more than this, your system becomes saturated, and the
additional alcohol will accumulate in the blood and body tissues until
it can be metabolized.

As alcohol reaches the brain, the person begins to "feel" drunk. The
exact nature of this feeling can vary considerably from individual to
individual and even within the same individual from situation to
situation.

So enriched with this information, my suggestion is to set the siamese
(swage block/stake anvil) outside the forge... consume above the
recommended level of alcohol of your choice ...get plastered and dwell
on the problem..

With your newly acquired alcohol depressed brain, the end result will
be either loosing interest in the matter altogether and ducking out
for a burrito or you might have an epiphany of sorts.. ie. weld the
swage block to your rear bumper of the truck and chain the spike anvil
to the forge. (beware: this may result in either the collapse of your
forge or the swift removal of your rear bumper. If it is the latter
then my suggestion would to continue driving and buy yourself that
burrito!) ;o)

Good luck!

disclaimer: in no way shape of form do I condone or suggest that
drinking and driving should be combined. It is dangerous and silly..
besides you might spill your drink when attempting to answer your
mobile phone whilst changing gear!!
