For what it is worth.
You couldn't give me copper counter tops..
Most of the patinas are water soluble especially if the water has a bit 
of an acid edge to it,coffee , chili,lemonade etc.
The copper can also transfer to the bottom of serving plates which can 
wreck havoc with those white linen tablecloths I am certain you use.
