Get some aerokroil or silikroil from KANO Labs.
Heat the area around the stake, spray the area, and give it about 40 light 
hammer blows to aid the kroil penetration.
Repeat several times a day for several days. Then support the block and 
drive out the stake with a drift and sledge hammer. Kroil is the best 
penetrant on the market. It's proved itself many times.
