Ol Henry was kind of tight,didn't even want to wast the scrap from the free oak he was using for floor boards. So Kingsford started making charcoal from it. Used to be you could only buy Kingsford charcoal at a ford dealer. Not sure who first started making modern briquettes with the clay for binder.Kingsford was doing it the old fashioned way.
