YEAH SURE- have YOU tried to read Mason and Dixon?
I have gotten started 2 or 3 times, but never made it thru.

Now for quaint period english, I prefer the TV show DEADWOOD.
certain classic anglo saxon words were used with enough frequency
that even I could figure them out after a few episodes.

Reis, I don't really believe you have much of a problem understanding
those
"quaint & curious volumes of forgotten lore"- We know you're smart
enough to
figure it out from context....

Dude! How can you even think that?
I think the changes in the language are like totally the schiznitz!

Of course, I do have "Old Fart" embroidered in red above the left
pocket of my work shirt.

But really, no matter what we would like, language is a living thing,
and it changes, all the time.
We probably could not understand most of what an american from 1776
said.
I know I can barely understand it when Thomas Pynchon writes it in
his book "Mason Dixon", anyway.
