Seems to me that copper is a metal too.

BTW - If you have riveted on handles I bet it's a copper kettle. Many of these are black from age but will shine up very well using a salt slurry. We use a large one for apple butter. Turn it upside down to store it but still have to clean it with salt each year.
New copper ones run several hundred dollars. I saw an antique cast one go for $800 a month or so ago. It was a middle size. The large cast ones are still used by the Amish here and there are several at every auction.

Oohh. Mine isn't copper, it's metal. I don't think it's cast, but seems to
have been heated and stretched in a set of fullers, really big fullers. I
think it's about 36" to 42" diameter, with riveted on handles. Just perfect
for the pig in your neighborhood!
