I think there was a typo in your post Bob.  I'm guessing it should
have read like this,

"Especially when there are much more likely scenarios such as the NSA
and Dept. of Homeland Security having filter software that scans most
internet traffic thanks to AT&T these days.  It could have snagged
something in Dan's original post."

I would imagine they scan for specific chemical names and words like
'explosive', etc..
