For a variety of reasons I generally size casters to support (total
weight / (number of wheels-1)) This allows an overload factor and the
situation where an uneven floor prevents all of the casters from making
contact with the floor. Even when you think they all are, you will often
find that you can barely spin one wheel, so the rest are carrying the load.
