Have you considered hanging it from the cieling joists, right next to the wall?
That could be made to look nice, maybe...

as for HTML, it is a list configuration option -- I'm too new here to know when
or who, but it is a setting/decision that does protect the list from
certain types
of problems, like spam and also worms, ug.  :)   The problem with HTML is
that it allows mixtures of document and code (included programming, to some
degree), which breaks an important paradigm... but of course it is common and
handy to use HTML ;)
My advice would be to find a better email interface which allows
text-only sending...
I don't know if you're exclusively using webmail, but if not try
Thunderbird email
(it is related to the Firefox web browser, child of Mozilla, heiress
of Netscape, heh)
In Gmail I can toggle between "Rich formatting" and "Plain text", I
like gmail and
manage multiple accounts from one place with it, they're pretty cutting-edge.

Anywhoo, I found a useful page which has instructions for sending plaintext from
many different emailers, including AOL versions 6, 7, and 9:
