[TheForge] A challenge to Harry

Harry,
I am remiss; considering your opening statements, someone should have advised
you to (temporarily) join the Yahoo newsgroup "Castinghobby" so as to plunder
their files and photographs; e-s-p-e-c-i-a-l-l-y the photographs showing Frank's
Multi-hole, as miniature Multi-holes using the very fuel cylinder size you have
described became popular after his posting. One and two gallon fuel cylinders
make very handy little forge/furnaces. A forge/furnace shouldn't need the full
carriage, but rather a simple "A" frame will do. You can use a 1/2" burner in
one, but 3/8" is the perfect control size. I can point you to the right guys for
help building a 3/8" burner, when you get that far.

Or, if you build the MINIATURE Multi-hole (mounted in either box carriage or "A"
frame) AND POST PICTURES OF IT SOMEWHERE ON THE NET, I will build and ship a
3/8" fourth generation tube burner to you, free of charge (even for the
shipping). This offer is open to the first five people who take it up; simply
build a miniature Multi-hole and post a photo of it on the Net to receive your
own free burner. I can only give what specific advice is permitted by my
publisher, but if you study Frank's file photos well, that advice will be
sufficient. As to fourth, fifth, and sixth generation burners, I cannot discuss
their construction, and must ask that none of you do so either; they are
copyrighted.

Hi All,

I am putting together a small propane forge using a disposable freon
can. I have made a hole just above the center weld. For alignment what
should I be looking for? I can add more burners later as needed but to
start with I am mounting just one. Should I have it blast down dead
center or angle it to get a swirling effect? I intend to mount a socket
I can set the burner in so when finished I can pull the burner out.

Please pardon as I am sure this is an oft repeated question. If this is
info available online, a link would be just grand.

thanks, Harry
