[TheForge] Coal Forges - lets try this again

While we are trying this again: Sid Sudemeier with Little Giant sells the
Laurel Foundry firepot. I think they are $175, but you should check with
him. They are over 3/4" thick maybe 1". The casting is smooth, and the
inside corners have a nice large radius. They are also very nice
rectangular firepots about 3 1/2 + inches deep. To get the firepot deeper,
put 1" bricks on the table and then the firepot is 4 1/2" deep which is
better. The web page for Little Giant is
http://www.littlegianthammer.com/ . They sell with or without the ash dump
assembly. I don't think he lists them on his web page, but the page has a
phone # to call him or a contact e-mail address.
Also, Jonathan Nedbor 845-687-7130 sells a reproduction Canady Otto firepot.
It is heavy and has the half sphere clinker breaker. The clinker breaker
has vertical slots so the air goes up instead of toward the firepot sides
(which makes the sides last longer). I think his price is $350 and only has
a limited supply.

I don't recall the exact price. It has been several years since we
got one for the museum forge. As I remember it is $150.00 - $170.00 but
don't hold me to that guess. In my opinion you will be hard pressed to find
a better pot for the price. We bought the smaller rectangle shaped one.

Hi,
I usually just lurk, but I have been following this fire pot thread closely.
I checked out the website and found the info. Unfortunately, there is no
price list and one needs to call the guy.
