Terry, this probably won't be of much help, but my Dad has his pickup truck
rigged with one of the little hoist units good for 200 lbs. All he has to
do is to operate the hand control to lift it and so on. The hand control
even has switches that will raise and lower the chair, move the chair in and
out of the vehicle. Now his chair is electric, so the hoist really gets put
to use.
He got his by checking the San Antonio Express and News. After a few weeks,
there it was. He went and checked it out and bought it. I don't know what
he paid for it, but it was much much lower than retail.
Later on, he found another one, and as luck would have it, he ended up with
the 2nd one also. I think he had ideas of putting the 2nd one in my Jeep
Cherokee, but that didn't happen. So, there's this second hoist at the
shop, and I don't know if he has plans for it now or not. If you'd like ,
I'll check with him on the second one and get back to you. Seems like
$600 - $800 is what he paid, but I might be way off base here.
