[TheForge] Power hammer pads for conference

At Lacrosse Bob Bergman brought in a nazel that had its own pad and I
believe the rest of the hammers just sat on the tar
At Richmond the school required a steel plate and we rented 3/4" from a
local contractor and welded down angle iron the keep the hammers in
place. I think this requirement was due to the heat and they were afraid
of tar damage.

As for power requirements At Lacrosse and Richmond they rented a 3 phase
generator. At Seattle they were promised shore power which turned out
to be 440 which could not be used so day before conference they rented a
generator. The Striker and Anyang hammers are 3 phase.

As for hammers Tom Clark usually brings 2 or 3, both are single phase
220 Striker and Anyang probably would have 2 each. Big Blue needed 220
for their large air compressor. ABANA has a large amount of heavy
electric wire but Eric rented $50,000 worth of wire also for Seattle but
they were bringing the power a long distance for the shore power were if
they rented a generator right off it would have been shorter. Need some
110 for lights grinders small tools ect. Also need construction type
air compressor for all three conferences.

I think BAM and Tom Clark have the ball rolling for a 2008 conference in
Missouri with or without ABANA backing.

At the 1998 conference, power hammers were set up on the tarmac of a
parking lot. Was that unsatisfactory? A friend has a 25-lb Little
Giant on a hardwood pallet which he locks to a cement floor for use.

I second the request for any information you may have collected for
setting up past events. I'm improvising here, but I'd really like to
demonstrate a viable alternative for you..

While I'm at it, I need to know how many power hammers, minimum needed
for a base (understanding it will only be for a week) and their power
requirements.
