Feel frustration that no reasonably good, professional, technique
oriented DVDs of the demonstrations at the conf are
available....in light of the considerable dues we pay, they
should come with membership.
Such DVDs would also soften the anguish of being unable to attend
simutaneous demos.
In light of the distances many have to travel , longer
conferences would help...hate to spent more time on the road than
there , drinking beer and learning new stuff.
I favor low budget, minimum amenities, camp out, pleasant rural
settings. I'd also favor less ceremonial hoo hah, dance bands and
kiddie activities. Just BS please.
Perhaps, as Bruce says, Abana could back more frequent, more
geographically diverse efforts of local groups, with packages or
teams to deal with specific conference aspects, like video,
communications, sound systems, legal crap, expert advice on anvil
blowing and beer sponsors.
OK, Bruce didn't say all that.
As it is, living out here in the sticks, most of what i see for
my membership fee is 2 good, but infrequent publications....and
this here bullshittery.
What the good folks who have dedicated a fat chunk of their lives
to blacksmithing and ABANA now chime in with is...Hey, you're
completely right...come right on up and do it!
