Ron ,

I also use a Miller inverter(304) for steel.  I tig alot on small parts, 
furniture etc. I stick weld anything with it (DC only). Not cheap, but a 
great machine.  I never had cause to go as low as 5 amps nor as high as 200. 
I bought the CC(constant current) version, big mistake. I should have bought 
CC/CV(constant voltage) so I could have attached a mig to it. Good luck.
