Does anyone know what 55 gal. steel drums are made of?  It seems to be very low carbon, soft steel.

Thanks for your response...yes, i'm using tie wire now for that
reason and it helps a bit.
I've been a low-income ,junkyard sculptor for so many years that
it's hard for me to spend the money to get deep draw steel
shipped out here...But given the number of hours i end up
investing in a given piece, it's clearly false economy ( again)
on my part.
You are probably pointing me in the right direction...thank you...pf
