Doesn't have to be very much, but yes, large air leaks are a problem.
Think wall switches and outlet plates, around the doors and windows.

The way to see if you have pressure using nothing technical, open the
door slightly. Either use a lit match, smoke from a cigarette, or
anything else light enough to be moved by the air. If the match flame
leans away from the area you have positive pressure. If it blows the
match out, you have too much pressure and possibly could cut back. Yes
the blower will blow up to it's pressure stall point, but if you have
other leaks in the room, it will be working excessively to fill up the
room; a waste of power<G>. Pretty much it depends upon how fancy you
want to be and how much time you want to spend on the problem. Easiest
thing to do is to try it with the fan you have available and see if it
works. If it does, leave it alone<G>. Again, I would set the fan to
cut on at the same time as the coal forge blower.
