Jerry,

I have a bunch of old hack saw blades, but I think most are bimetal. Do you think bimetal blades will work?

Aubrey

Subject: [TheForge] Hacksaw Blades was Banding steel

The reason I asked about the banding steel, is that a
few years ago I made a rough twist Damascus out of
hacksaw blades. It made a pretty knife that I saw it
was what you could get out of Medieval Times.

I made the billet, then took two pieces of 1/4" steel
rod, twisted them into a caduceus like pattern. Then I
flattened them out and forged them on to the knife
blade. This was more for show than using, but it made
a pretty pattern.
