[TheForge] Drilling stone

Generally I drill 3/4 - 1" holes for the boot  scrapers. Perhaps I should 
invest in a diamond bit.  What might a decent  3/4 bit cost? 

I assume you do not use them with a hammer drill? Not at  all familiar with 
using them. 

How long might it take to drill a 3/4"  hole x 3" deep in granite (belgium 
block). In most stones (Like Pennsylvania  field stone) I use a combination 
hammer drill and star drill and can usually do  a hole like above in less than an 
hour.
