Surely ye jest- @ $1/hr for your time you would have only $300 in the dies.
Why do you balk at buying the equipment you said you need/want anyway? Is it

A REAL MAN would use a hacksaw.  :^)

Seriously, a power hacsksay might be the answer.  We cut the 6" round
for the Grasshopper anvil on a power hacksaw, with a little help from my
friends.
