The Kaowool with ITC #100 will certainly take any heat source that a
home-made bottom refractory will, especially if you buy some rigidizer and
stiffen the inside face to about 1/2" depth before using the ITC #100
coating. Otherwise, you will have trouble, not on the vertical portion, but
the overhead and exit hole. You will find the furnace to be surprisingly
efficient this way.

hello;
i am currently rebuilding two crucible furnaces and have the metal cut
to build an additional two crucible furnaces. the two being rebuilt have
an outside diameter of 12 inches with an inside diameter of 8 inches.
the furnace outlined in the book...
