Hey Roger,
Quenching in acid makes for a nice clean part right away but if you
have to go back and solder it can leave acid in tiny cracks and
crevices in the work and cause difficulties with solder flow. It can
also lead to stress crack corrosion problems in alloys that are
susceptible to that phenomena.
