and heat)

I don't think I can make it work logistically this time but I will use
it one of these days.
After reading all these posts, I'm leaning toward insulating the 3'
deep frost walls (vertically) and then insulating 2-4 feet around the
walls horizontally. I want to be able to reconfigure, so I don't want
to have to worry if this or that will break my floor. I figger if I can
keep the crush warm I should be ok. Frosty, thanks for the comments on
radiant--I'll look into that. Seems like a very efficient way to heat.
On the wood heat/creosote issue--I am thinking of modifying my fisher
papa bear stove by running black iron pipe into the top of the firebox
and putting it outside in a dirt mound, and then running that in
series with the hot water heater. Then if the thing burns, it's not a
big deal, and I'm not interfering with the smoke.
Thanks for all the input, folks.
